Can a Wedding Planner Save You Money?

The short answer? Yes. The long answer? Yes, but not in the ways you might be thinking.

You’re getting married - congratulations! For most couples, the foundation of their wedding planning journey is the budget. Some couples think that their first defense against an extended budget is to keep the wedding planning process DIY. But there are a lot of savings that a wedding planner can offer that can help couples save money while also creating the wedding of their dreams.

Emotional Savings

Finding your venue, booking your vendors, creating your day-of timeline and floor plan, coordinating logistics with all of your vendors - a planner is there to take care of these obvious details. But your wedding planner is also going to be able to do so much more. They are there to give you a sense of confidence during your wedding planning process that you're making smart decisions, that nothing is going to slip through the cracks, and that everything will be 100% taken care of on your wedding day.

I personally want you to feel calmer and less stressed when planning your wedding and that’s why I’m here. After so many weddings, I know that everything you're going through is normal and my goal is to make you feel less alone, even during the times that you swear you're the only person who has ever gone through this exact experience before. Facing tricky family dynamics and feeling lost? I can help you navigate these choppy waters. The saved time and energy of these situations are invaluable.

Spending Smarter

A good wedding planner is worth their weight in vendor relationships, and I pride myself on my roster of vendors. I will take a look at the aesthetics and budget of your wedding and introduce you to vendors at a variety of price points so you can splurge where you want to and save in other areas. My experience with different venues comes with knowledge of hidden costs that each venue comes with - I will ensure that you’re selecting a venue that will help you stay within your budget. Because that seemingly affordable loft space might spill over your budget once you factor in renting kitchen equipment, obtaining permits, bringing in all of the furniture, and other necessities to host a wedding there.

I like to be upfront about things, so I will definitely be a gut check for you if something feels too expensive or not necessary. I will help you spend your money efficiently so that every dollar counts.

It’s Not About the Discounts

I like to be very upfront and candid about discounts - I do not feel comfortable promising them. While I have been able to negotiate discounts with some vendors in the past, I don't want you to book me on the premise that you’ll save “x” amount of dollars. Because if that doesn't happen, I don't want you to be disappointed.

But as mentioned previously, I have vendors in my network at a variety of price points that I can recommend to you. I would rather highlight my ability to connect you with high-quality vendors at a lower price point than the promise that I could get a $6,000 photographer to come down to $5,000, for example. While there are no money-saving guarantees in hiring a wedding planner, I am here to stretch your dollars further than you could yourself.
